Seriously … you will want to be part of this very special District Conference! Beginning May 1, 2014 and ending May 5, 2014 Districts 6950, 6960 and 6990 will share a first – a multi District Conference. Not only will this be a mini international conference, it will also be part sea voyage and part resort stay! How can you beat that?
THE SEA ~ BAHAMAS CELEBRATION
(May 1 )
On May 1st, those registered will depart from West Palm Beach to join Rotarians from the two other participating District’s on the Celebration Cruise Line’s Bahamas Celebration for an overnight sailing to Freeport, Bahamas. Boarding begins at 1:00 PM and the ship will sail at approximately 5:30 PM. Opportunities for fun and fellowship abound once you are on the ship. You can begin with a buffet lunch, spa treatment (additional cost), a workout in the gym, a dip in the pool or simply relax and get to know Rotarians from other districts. The ship offers fine dining, pubs, a casino and entertainment in ”The View”. Meals on the ship are included in the price – alcohol is at your expense! What a way to start a District Conference! THE SAND ~ GRAND LUCAYAN RESORT
(May 2-3)
Upon arrival in Freeport, the fun will move to the Grand Lucayan Resort and the sand
portion of the conference begins. In addition to the activities of the conference, you will
be able to take advantage of the many amenities available at one of the most beautiful
resorts in the Caribbean. During your free time the resort offers golf (on an 18 hole
course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.), fishing, tennis, and swimming (in one of three pools or the beautiful Caribbean Sea), a spa and fitness center, jogging trails and much more. You could choose to gamble in the casino, swim with dolphins, to feed sharks, kayak, scuba, snorkel or shop! There are eight restaurants, bars, coffee shops – to insure you have plenty to eat (daily breakfast and one lunch and banquet are included with your room). THE DISTRICT CONFERENCE 2014
(May 2 and 3)
There are ample activities planned as part of the conference. As with all District Conferences, you will be kept up to date with Rotary occurrences and events both within District and worldwide. There will be interesting and inspiring speakers, plenary sessions, projects and plenty of Rotary fellowship. This is just a sample of what is planned for you: “Nifty Fifty Cocktail Party” (for first 50 who register), a cocktail party hosted by the Grand Bahamas Tourist Board, multi district lunches and banquet, fun and rewarding projects with local Rotarians and Bahamas residents, and an “on board Cocktail Party”!
THE SEA ~ BAHAMAS CELEBRATION
(May 4)
On Sunday afternoon, May 4th, you will again board the beautiful Bahamas Celebration for the Back To Reality Cocktail Party and one more delicious dinner and fun with new friends before arriving in West Palm Beach. The ship will dock at approximately 8:00 AM on Monday, May 5, 2014 and bring the 2014 District Conference to it’s official conclusion.
